The Modern Theme creates a layout where you have links on the top, left and right sides of the page. The links that appear on the top and right side of the page are automatically setup by ShopSite, whereas the links on the left use the Page Link feature built within ShopSite. The links on the right side include the following:
If you would like to change these links or add you own links, you would need to modify the Modern template itself. Below are the steps that you would go through in order to modify the Modern templates to show your custom right navigation bar.
1. Copy the Modern templates. Below are a list of files and templates that you would need to copy in your store.
2. Locate the DIV section with id="links". It’s located under the TD with the id=”right.” This is NOT the UL class “right” found within the “headlinks” DIV. Within all of these templates and template files locate the DIV section named “links.” The “links” section will look like:
3. Add your own links using the format below. If you would like to remove any of the links listed in the right side, you can remove the link of code, or the complete IF/END_IF statement regarding those links. For this example we are just going to add our own links in addition to the links provided. Add the line of code shown below for every link you would like to add and replace the URL with the full URL to the page you want to link to, and replace "Page Name" with the text you would like displayed for each link.

NOTE: In the first textarea above you will see tags for the tell a friend feature. If you would like to leave this feature in your right column you can leave it in for the Modern.sst (page) template and the Modern-MoreInfoPage.sst (include) file. The rest of the files, the search page, cart pages, gift certificate page, and customer registration pages do not have a customer registration feature so those tags should not be in those templates.
4. Copy YOUR copy and name it the EXACT same as the original. Once you have finished making modifications, you can copy your copied templates and give them the exact same name as the original. If you do this, your new templates will override the original templates. Once your file name overrides the original, you can use the modern theme and it will read your new files and display your new links.
5. Publish. To regenerate your entire store using the edited templates and files you would go to Utilities > Publish > Regenerate.
